The Challenge:


How do we encourage young people to explore careers in tourism?

Our Solution:

Combining archival material with newly filmed segments, we developed a series of tailored outputs to engage various demographics and audience segments. We filmed across Northern Ontario, focussing on North Bay and Sudbury.

One of these was a 2-minute feel-good video titled “The Best Thing About My Job…” featuring testimonials from industry professionals.

Additionally, we produced a 60-second commercial called “Picture Your Dream Job,” designed to inspire a sense of adventure. We scripted the tagline "Rethink the 9-to-5" which became the central to the broader marketing campaign.

A 30-second TV ad was also created from the commercial and aired across Northern Ontario.

To bolster the campaign, we crafted social media content for multiple platforms.


The Results:

The marketing campaign has been running for one year and long-term impacts on employment data are yet to be released.


The success of this project has led to three further opportunities to work with Destination Northern Ontario, as well as developing a partnership their marketing agency, The New Business.
